About me

Hi! I’m Jessie – a South African performer, writer, and director based in London. I graduated with a distinction in Theatre-Making from the University of Cape Town in 2022. Shortly after, I debuted Patisserie Femme, a self-written, directed, and produced play funded by the South African National Arts Council. This production marked my entry into the professional world, and earned me two Fleur du Cap nominations.

My acting career has taken me across South Africa – working in theatre, film, and television. Most recently, I played the female lead, Bernadette, in Sam Steiner’s Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons

When I have a moment to spare, I am a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fanatic, water sports enthusiast (though English waters are chilly), and an avid bushveld spectator – give me a pair of binoculars in the Kruger National Park and I will be a happy lady!

Most of all, I cherish cooking a meal or baking a cake to share with loved ones – this is 100% my love language, and a sacred outlet that allows me to explore creativity in my life as a whole, not just in my work.
